President

Radiological Society of Pakistan

It is my privilege, on behalf of the Radiological Society of Pakistan, to welcome you to the 42nd Annual Conference of our society. For more than four decades this meeting has been the occasion on which Pakistani radiology takes stock of itself what we have learned, where our practice still falls short, and what the year ahead must look like.

This year we come to Peshawar, and to Rehman Medical Institute, at a moment when our specialty is changing faster than at almost any point in its history. Cross-sectional imaging is no longer a scarce resource confined to a handful of tertiary centres. Interventional radiology is delivering treatment, not merely diagnosis. And artificial intelligence has moved out of conference slideware and into the reading room, bringing with it questions of validation, governance and responsibility that we must answer ourselves rather than leave to others.

The programme your organising and scientific committees have assembled reflects that shift. Twelve hands-on workshops, three scientific tracks, live reporting sessions and a faculty drawn from across Pakistan and abroad all built around a single test: that a delegate should return to their department on Monday morning able to do something they could not do the week before.

I would encourage every trainee and every young consultant reading this to submit an abstract. Our free paper sessions are reviewed blind, and they are judged on the quality of the work rather than the seniority of the author. The scientific session is the heart of this conference, and it belongs to you.

I look forward to welcoming you to Peshawar in December.

On behalf of the Radiological Society of Pakistan, I welcome you to the official portal of the 42nd Annual Radiology Conference 2026, to be held on 18-20 Dec 2026 in Peshawar, Pakistan. The Pre-conference workshops are planned in Peshawar from 14-17 Dec 2026 and nationwide in Oct-Dec 2026.

Serving concurrently as the Secretary General of the Society and the Chair of the Scientific Committee, I am glad to announce that the Scientific Committee has secured an exceptional lineup of national and international faculty to lead high-caliber keynote lectures, interactive workshops and advanced MDT panel discussions. This year marks a historic departure from tradition as we host our premier academic hub directly within a live, state-of-the-art clinical environment at the Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) Peshawar, instead of a hotel, seamlessly bridging the gap between imaging theory and real-world medical practice.

Under this year's conference theme, "Radiology is the Eye of Medicine," we aim to involve healthcare professionals from different specialities to emphasize the role of Radiology. The rapid integration of artificial intelligence is reshaping our clinical landscapes. As radiologists, we remain at the forefront of this transformation, not merely as interpreters of data but also as vital clinical consultants guiding critical healthcare decisions. RSP is home to all Radiological fields from Radiology to Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Oncology, and it is best shown at the Annual RSP Conference where one can see the different flavors of learning activities during the sessions.

This website portal serves as your gateway to the conference. Use this digital hub to explore the program, submit your abstracts and secure your registration. I extend my sincere gratitude to the Executive Council and our dedicated organizing teams for their tireless execution of this event.

Looking forward to meet you all in December at the largest Annual Radiology event of Pakistan.

On behalf of the Executive Council of the Radiological Society of Pakistan (RSP), it is my distinct privilege to welcome you all to our upcoming Annual Scientific Conference. As the Finance Secretary, I am proud to support an event that serves as an annual hub for advancing radiological education, fostering research and elevating patient care standards across Pakistan. Organizing a scientific international gathering of this scale requires careful allocation of resources to ensure maximum value for all attendees. Our financial planning for this year's conference has focused on strategic investments: bringing in top-tier national and international faculty, securing high-quality workshop facilities and providing interactive scientific platforms for our residents, fellows and seasoned consultants.

Chairman, Organising Committee

Chief Executive Officer, Rehman Medical Institute

To every radiologist, resident, researcher, and colleague joining us: welcome to Rehman Medical Institute, and welcome to Peshawar.

It is a rare honour to host the 42nd Annual Radiology Conference on our campus this December. That honour was not ours to claim; it was given to us by the Radiological Society of Pakistan, and I am deeply grateful to its leadership, Prof. Dr. Syed Ghulam Ghaus Shah and his team, for entrusting this occasion to RMI. We do not take it lightly. We will try to be worthy of it.

Our theme this year says something simple and true: Radiology is the Eye of Medicine. Before a single decision is made at the bedside or in theatre, it is imaging that lets medicine see, turning shadow into diagnosis, doubt into a plan, and time into a chance to act early. Every clinician who has watched a scan change the course of a patient's life understands this. Ours is not a service at the margin of medicine. It is the sense through which medicine sees.

For three days, this campus is yours. Come to learn, to teach, to argue, to mentor, and to build the friendships that outlast any single meeting.

At RMI, we have never wanted to be the story. We want to be the place where good things happen, and to hold the door open while they do.

That door is open. Walk through it.

On the occasion of the International Radiology Conference, Peshawar, 18-20 December 2026: it is a matter of immense honour and privilege to welcome distinguished radiologists, researchers, professors, academicians and trainees from Pakistan and abroad to the International Radiology Conference being held in the historic city of Peshawar in December 2026.

Radiological Society of Pakistan, Peshawar

On the occasion of the International Radiology Conference, Peshawar, 18-20 December 2026: it is a matter of immense honour and privilege to welcome distinguished radiologists, researchers, professors, academicians and trainees from Pakistan and abroad to the International Radiology Conference being held in the historic city of Peshawar in December 2026.

Peshawar is not merely a city; it is a living chapter of the history and civilisation of this region. With its deep roots in the ancient Gandhara civilisation, centuries-old traditions and its position at the crossroads of South and Central Asia, Peshawar has historically been a meeting place of people, cultures, ideas and knowledge.

The historic Khyber Pass and Torkham, the vibrant Khyber Bazaar and Qissa Khwani Bazaar, the magnificent Mohabbat Khan Mosque, and the distinguished Islamia College Peshawar are enduring symbols of the city's remarkable heritage. Islamia College also occupies a special place in the history of Pakistan, having been visited by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1947.

It is therefore particularly meaningful that a major gathering devoted to modern science, medical knowledge and Radiology is taking place in this historic city.

Radiology is undergoing an extraordinary transformation. Advanced imaging, interventional techniques, digital healthcare and, above all, Artificial Intelligence are rapidly changing the way we diagnose disease and deliver patient care. This conference will provide an excellent platform for sharing the latest research, exchanging experiences and exploring new horizons in our specialty.

I especially invite our young radiologists, residents, fellows and trainees to participate wholeheartedly. The future of Radiology belongs to those who continue to learn, question, innovate and collaborate. Their active participation will not only enrich this conference but will also strengthen the future of Radiology in Pakistan.

Let us make this conference a celebration of knowledge, scientific excellence, friendship and international collaboration.

And let Peshawar convey a message to the world: a message of peace, hospitality, education, scientific progress and our shared commitment to humanity.

I warmly welcome all national and international delegates to Peshawar and wish the conference every success.
